The Consequences of Drawing Dragons by Anthony Fink
On Wednesday, September 16 from 6:30-8 PM, Anthony Fink an artist, author, and educator, will present his debut novel: The Consequences of Drawing Dragons. at Book Beat. At around 7 PM, Mr. Fink will perform music on guitar related to the work. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event and online.
Anthony M. Fink has been working on The Consequences Series for the past fifteen years, but the project really began much earlier—with comics, cartoons, Mad Magazine, Dungeons & Dragons, headphones, books, and a sketchbook.
As a kid, Fink preferred disappearing into imaginary worlds of his own making. Over the years, those worlds began to take other forms: drawings became paintings, ideas became stories, and stories became songs. Eventually they began to connect into a single, sprawling mythology.
The Consequences of Drawing Dragons is the first volume of that project, a four-book saga that travels across oceans, centuries, and galaxies while playing with the boundary between history and mythology. At its center are Marceau and Delphine Leggett, a brother and sister whose lives become entangled with a mysterious power that allows art to become real.
About the Author
For the past 25 years Anthony Fink has taught art to students of all ages, across various metropolitan areas, all the while developing an intricate fantasy series that would incorporate art, music, and history – all of the subjects most dear to him. His experiences writing, creating, and teaching in the arts have given him a unique sense of the creative spirit, which he has lovingly labored to infuse into his four-book Consequence Series, along with much more.
