Ridgeway Press & Collective is one of Detroit’s vital independent literary-artistic forces. With weekly online meetings, shared vacations, and a screwball newsletter, this band of creatives has remained together, loyal to the call of Ridgeway Dada. Plans for the celebration include:
• Melba Joyce Boyd, poet, memoirist, and historian—has dedicated her work to documenting and uplifting Detroit’s literary voices, including her landmark work on Dudley Randall and Broadside Press.
• Marion Hayden, acclaimed bassist and composer, whose work bridges poetry and improvisational sound.

• Visual artists and poets: Carl Dada Zilch, M.L. Liebler, Jeff Ensroth, Gregory Hallock, and Donna Penner representing Ridgeway’s multidisciplinary reach
• Robin Eichele, a founding member of the Detroit Artist Workshop and the author of several poetry volumes.
• An acoustic/electric performance by Monster Island, (Matthew Smith, Efe Bes & Cary Loren) bringing experimental sonic textures into the mix.
• Hosted by Detroit poet, educator and cultural organizer M.L. Liebler whose new book Hound Dog will be on hand.
• Avant-garde Movies! Popcorn! Dancing! Tijuana Bibles! Mail Art and more!
• Book Beat will be selling books, representing the authors and a selection of titles reflecting Ridgeway’s Macomb-Dada and Surrealist roots.
More than an anniversary celebration—it’s a living archive of Detroit’s creative energy. Be There or Be Square!
