Hello Independent Bookstore Day! Saturday, April 29, from 10am-8pm. Celebrate indie bookstores around the country, online and in-store. Here at Book Beat, we will be celebrating with local authors and giveaways! Stop in for great deals, coffee, and a chance to win a $300 gift card. More details below.

We will be kicking off Independent Bookstore Day early with A Day of Books and Roses on World Book Day: Sunday, April 23.

We will be giving away raffle tickets for prizes announced at the end of the day. You will receive one raffle ticket for every $10 spent.

Exclusive merch made for National Indie Bookstore Day and free giveaways.

Sale books and markdowns will receive an extra 20% off! April 29: 10am-8 pm.

Enjoy a free cup-of-joe through our new self-serve venture: No Choice Coffee, or try a pour-over (time permitting) created by a local barrista with 8 years of experience for $3. Please drink responsibly.

Join in the Michigan Book Hop! with 30 local Michigan bookstores. Visit Indie Bookstores and Win Prizes! Bingo cards must be turned in to bookstores by May 14, 2023. There will be $300 Grand Prize gift certificate from Bookshop.org and seven $20 gift certificates to spend at your local indie bookstore.

Local authors Michael Zadoorian and Stephen Mack Jones will be visiting to sign and recommend their favorite books, from 1:30pm-2:30pm and 3:30pm-4:30pm respectively.

Receive book recommendations from Tom Bowden from 2:30-3:30pm, resident columnist of “i arrogantly recommend…” featured in the Book Beat newsletter.

Local author and artist  Tracy Gallup will be giving a talk and signing her new children’s book Anna’s Kokeshi Dolls from 6:00pm-8:00pm.
