Judge Robert L. Wilkins at Baldwin Library, Wed.,March 15th

U.S. Circuit Court Judge Robert L. Wilkins will be at Baldwin Public Library(300 W. Merrill St. Birmingham, MI 48009) on Wednesday, March 15th,  at 7:00 PM. Judge Wilkins will be promoting his book on the new National Museum of African American History and Culture, Long Hard Road to Truth.Book Beat will be selling books at the event. Author, Lecturer, and Advocate Janice Fialka will be at Book Beat on Sunday, March 26th from 2:00-4:00 PM to have a conversation regarding her book What Matters: Reflections on Disability, Community and Love. Helen Frost & Rick Lieder at Book Beat, Sat., April 8th!

Book Beat and the Sierra Club present poet Helen Frost and photographer Rick Lieder at Book Beat on Saturday, April 8th from 1:00-4:00pm to celebrate the release of their latest collaboration, Wake Up! Wake Up! is the follow up to their three previous critically-acclaimed collaborations: Step Gently Out, Among a Thousand Fireflies and Sweep Up The Sun. They will be speaking and signing copies of their work. Reading Group Selection for March

The Book Beat reading group selection for March is The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin. The Reading Group will meet on Wednesday, March 29th at 7pm at the Goldfish Tea Room (117 W 4th St #101, Royal Oak, MI 48067). Reading Group selections are discounted 15% at Book Beat.
