Fear, Fortitude, and the Future is a book about fear, power, and accomplishment, and gaining the grit and gumption it takes to overcome obstacles and get where you want to be.
“Moving women out into the world-—and pushing them forward with purpose and with power has been my goal ever since that chilly day in 2016 when I started Fems for Dems. It’s a book that will inspire women to get a firm footing, wherever they may land.”
—Lori Goldman
Lori Goldman was never a regular voter when she started Fems for Dems ten years ago. She now sits on the organization’s board as well as that of Fems for Democracy and is a member of the Birmingham-Bloomfield Democrats, and Michigan NOW. Ms. Goldman spends her days doing real estate but spends her time otherwise on Fems for Dems’ mission of furthering progressive causes and turning Michigan blue (again). This is her first (but not her last) book.
Cindi Cook is a political consultant, writer, editor, and author. Ms. Cook has worked as a Field Organizer on Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential race and the 2017 gubernatorial race in Virginia; as the Voter Protection Specialist in the 2022 midterms in Detroit; and as a Regional Organizing Director in Mississippi in 2023. Ms. Cook was Governor Whitmer’s Organizing Director for Fight Like Hell PAC and worked as a Constituent Services Director/Legislative Aide in the Michigan House of Representatives. She was the Paris Correspondent for Anadolu Agency and is the former Editor in Chief of Hamptons magazine. Ms. Cook’s work has appeared in HuffPost, The New York Times, The New York Post, Allure, Interior Design, and Tatler. Fear, Fortitude, and the Future marks the first publication for her publishing company, CCC.
