Artist Biography:

Born Stanley George Miller in 1940, Detroit-native Stanley “Mouse” grew up in the hot rod culture of the 1950s, gaining early prominence for his custom airbrush art on t-shirts and vehicles. In 1965, he relocated to San Francisco, where he became a central figure in the psychedelic art movement. Collaborating with Alton Kelley, Mouse formed Alton Kelley Studios, producing iconic concert posters for the Avalon Ballroom and the Fillmore Auditorium. His distinctive blend of art nouveau aesthetics, fine draftsmanship, and counterculture motifs came to define the visual identity of 1960s rock, most notably through his enduring album artwork and imagery for the Grateful Dead and Journey.
