Tar Beach Cassie doll and book set by Faith Ringgold
Cassie is a 13” doll designed by Faith Ringgold for her book Tar Beach, which won a 1992, Caldecott Honor and the 1992 Coretta Scott King award. Cassie has three braids and a removable cotton dress.
The box has some light wear except for one corner that is worn, shown in photo. The Doll and book are in excellent condition stored at Book Beat for thirty years. The doll and miniature hardcover book are in perfect condition.
This month the 91-year-old painter, writer, and sculptor Faith Ringgold will be the subject of the first full retrospective held in her hometown when “Faith Ringgold: American People” opens at NYC’s New Museum.
