Portrait of Nico by Billy Name

Nico Portrait circa 1965/ and printed later is a hand-printed silver print by Billy Name, exhibited at Book Beat Gallery in early 1992. The photograph is signed in lower right corner and stamped on the reverse. In the early 1990s Book Beat hosted several exhibitions with Billy Name. This print is 11″x14″ and in Very Fine condition, printed circa 1989/1990, from a vintage negative by the photographer. Nico was an actress and an avant-garde singer/ songwriter who performed with the Velvet Underground.

William George Linich (February 22, 1940 – July 18, 2016), known professionally as Billy Name, was an American photographer, filmmaker, and lighting designer. He was the archivist of The Factory from 1964 to 1970.
