Book Synopsis

The narrative follows Firedrake, a young silver dragon who learns that humans intend to flood his home valley. He sets off on an epic journey toward the Rim of Heaven, a mythical sanctuary hidden in the Himalayas. Accompanied by a protective forest brownie named Sorrel and Ben, an orphaned runaway boy, Firedrake must navigate unfamiliar lands. Their quest is complicated by Nettlebrand, a heartless, gold-plated monster designed by an alchemist specifically to hunt and destroy silver dragons.

About the Author

Cornelia Funke is an internationally recognized German author and illustrator of children’s fiction.
