Alfred Stieglitz: Camera Work Photogravure, Spring 1901
Alfred Stieglitz — Spring—The Child (1901)
Camera Work, No. 12, October 1905
An original photogravure reproduction of Alfred Stieglitz’s Spring—The Child, made from his 1901 photograph and published in Camera Work No. 12 in October 1905.
The photograph shows a young girl in a light dress and bonnet standing among trees and undergrowth. Stieglitz’s soft tonal treatment and the rich surface of the photogravure give the image a quiet, atmospheric quality.
The image is printed on rice paper and mounted on a larger sheet. The mount is in fine condition, with a slight wrinkle at the lower left where the print was adhered to the mount. Please see the photographs for details of the print and mounting. Archival matt is 14″ x 18″
