Dear Readers,<\/p>\n

Though this newsletter arrives later than we planned, the spirit behind it remains the same: bringing people together through books, conversation, and community. At a time when so much of our public life feels fragmented and distracted, independent bookstores and libraries continue to serve as places where people can gather in peace, and where ideas are shared freely, with curiosity and purpose.<\/p>\n

In this current climate of stress and war, I’ve been thinking Books are the<\/strong> New Arsenal of Democracy<\/strong>. When I googled those words I found a website<\/a> already exists and its message is simple: read and share books. The act of reading and sharing books with others will make us a brighter and stronger nation. Literacy is power and something we mostly take for granted. Read often and read more, share books with others and those who are less fortunate.<\/p>\n
