Her latest book, <a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\/a\/1028\/9780393248432\"><em>The Waters<\/em><\/a>, was chosen as Jenna Bush Hager&#8217;s January 2024 book club pick. She&#8217;s also written <em>Once Upon a River<\/em> and <em>Q Road<\/em>, as well as several short fiction collections.<\/p>\n<p>Slocumb, a native of North Carolina, has a degree in music education and plays the violin and viola. His two novels are <a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\/a\/1028\/9780593315422\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>The Violin Conspiracy<\/em> <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/bookshop.org\/a\/1028\/9780593315453\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Symphony of Secrets<\/em><\/a>.
