Read in the Park will be held in the Collaborative Center at Berkley High School.\u00a0 (It is on 2325 Catalpa, at 11 and 1\/2 mile East of Coolidge facing Catalpa.)<\/p>\n<p>This is a free, fun and community wide celebration of books and reading for children, young adults and their families.\u00a0 This year&#8217;s Read in the Park falls on El d\u00eda de los ni\u00f1os\/El d\u00eda de los libros, The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ala.org\/ala\/mgrps\/divs\/alsc\/initiatives\/diadelosninos\/aboutdia\/aboutdia.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Day of the Child and Day of the Book,<\/a> a day recognized by the United Nations.\u00a0 This will be a great opportunity to introduce children to national and internationally known Detroit area authors and illustrators. The Book Beat has invited some of our favorite area writers to this special afternoon event. Below are some short descriptions of the books and authors with links to learn more.
