Since this runs off 1 AA battery, it's not super-loud. If you need more loudness, either use headphones, or plug the device into an external amplifier via the headphone jack. Note that Brian Eno says that often it's a good idea to have things like this playing at a just-barely-audible level, adding to the ambience of the environment instead of replacing it.
The songs are monophonic, soothing, short and very beautiful. They will fill your mind with goodness.
