She settled in Detroit where she met and married John Sinclair and together they founded the Detroit Artist Workshops and laster the White Pantehr Parter and Rainbow Peoples Party. As the minister of Culture and Information, Leni produced a vast archive that catalogs the Detroit area musicians and artists of the period 1965-1990s. Her work has appearead in numerous publications and record albums.
