Author Amy Goldman Koss was originally from the Detroit area and is back in town for a visit to lead a summer YA book group. THE GIRLS is a fast read, (if you haven't already read it), and its in paperback.  Join a discussion group on THE GIRLS in a special young adult summertime book club meeting at Book Beat on Tuesday,July 22nd from 7-8:30 PM - (parents are welcome too). We will be joined by  Amy Goldman Koss  who will leading us in a discussion about her highly acclaimed paperback novel THE GIRLS.  The Book Beat is located at 26010 Greenfield, in Oak Park. Amy Goldman Koss is the author  of Side Effects, Poison Ivy, Gossip Times Three, The Cheat, The Ashwater Experiment, Kaily, How I saved Hanukkah, Strike Two and The Trouble With Zinny Weston. She will also be signing books and will talk about her two latest books available in hardcover. 

Amy Goldman Koss grew up in the Detroit area (way back when..) and now lives in Southern California with her husband and two children. She also has a myspace page.

We will also have available two recent hardcover books by Amy Goldman Koss: Poison Ivy  is a book about fairness and justice during a mock trial in an American Government class and Side Effects, a triumphant story about a young girl's battle with cancer. The Book Beat YA summer reading club is free and open to the general public. Please try to arrive on time and bring your toughest questions. This is a great way to get in some quality reading for the summer. THE GIRLS is approriate for reading levels aged 10-15 years.
