Children’s Authors and Michigan residents Lisa Wheeler, Lisa Rose, and Deborah Aronson will be at Book Beat on Saturday, November 12th, 2016 from 1 to 3 PM.

Lisa Wheeler will be reading from The Christmas Boot, her classic holiday tale newly illustrated by Jerry Pinkney, which is sure to be one of the holiday season’s standout children’s books. She will also be giving a “story behind the story” talk. Lisa Rose will be reading from her book, Shmulik Paints the Town. Deborah Aronson will be reading from her book Where’s My Tushy? and her new book, Dragons from Mars.

On Saturday, November 12th at 8:30 AM, Book Beat will be selling books at a talk by John Schumacher (“Mr. Schu”) and Travis Jonker at Oakland Schools (2111 Pontiac Lake Road  Waterford Township, MI 48328).

Detroit Culture & Islands of the Great Lakes at Book Beat, Sun., Nov. 13th

great-lakes-island-escapesOn Sunday, November 13th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Book Beat will be hosting three Detroit-based authors, Maureen Dunphy, Laurie Lanzen Harris, and Dennis Nawrocki at Book Beat. Dunphy is the author of Great Lakes Island Escapes: Ferries and Bridges to Adventure , Harris is the author of The Detroit Symphony Orchestra: Grace, Grit, and Glory, and Nawrocki is the author of Essay’d: 30 Detroit Artists.
