Luncheon Fundraiser for the StoryTellers Guild, Thur. April 14th.

feedreadJoin Book Beat at The Community House (380 South Bates, Birmingham, Michigan 48009) on Thursday, April 14th from 11:30 AM-3:00 PM for a Luncheon Fundraiser for the StoryTellers Guild. Award winning author and illustrator Denise Fleming will be the guest speaker and signing copies of their books. Attendees are asked to register by April 6th for a registration fee of $40. Lunch will be provided and there will be a raffle and silent auction. All proceeds will be used to purchase books for classrooms visited by members of the StoryTellers Guild. smallsmallDenise Fleming won a Caldecott Honor for her book In the Small, Small Pond. She is the author and illustrator of eighteen picture books, including In the Tall, Tall Grass and The First Day of Winter. Ms. Fleming creates the illustrations for her books by pouring colored cotton pulp through hand-cut stencils. The result–images set in hand-made paper.
